Spiro Athanas Letter

Dear Spiro Athanas,

Hi my name is Raquel and I am 14 going on 15. I have read your story "A Bag of Oranges." Your story was good, but I could forshadow what was going to happen. For example, on page 219 it said "Stavro quickly grabbed the young man's wrist and began squeezing." I could tell he thought he was going to steal it.
I can relate to the coming of age experience. When I was a little kid I list my father as well. This is similar to the story because Nikos lost his father. My connection is a coming of age experience becaues I had to learn to live without my father.
The theme of this story is that your parents might be embarrassing to you, but they really care for you. Another theme is that sometimes you will lose someone but you have to move on. For example, when Nikos dad was hit by the car he some what moved on and started to think about the oranges like his father. His father had protected those oranges with his life. Now Nikos has started to protect the oranges, for his father.

Marigolds Letter

Dear Eugenia Collier,

Your story surprised me in many ways. My reaction was excited about how Liabeth cahnged her life for the better. "And I too have Planted marigolds."This quote is what L:izabeth said, before she hated the flowersbut now she loves them. The best part in this story was when Lizabeth went back to the garden, but she wouldn't have to go back if she wouldn't have destoryed it. This reminds me of the time when I would rip up my grandma's shirts she nited.I would always go back to say sorry. My question is why did Lizabeth go back to the garden?I think it is because she felt bad and started to understand how she affected the people around her. For example, I went back to say sorry because I didn't have to do that. I didn't know that I also affected the people around me which was my grandma.I understand why Lizabeth destoryed the flower because what was going on at home, like money wise, between her mmom an d dad, and thing of that sort. Your story was perfect at one point then sad but good at the end.

Noble Street Charter School Is Crazy

To Begin, Noble Street Charter School is making students pay money for every small thing they do. For instance, if they come to school with their shoe untied; as a result you have to pay a fine. This prepares students for the real world. Also, teaches discipline to the students. Therefore the students get more learning time. They get more knowledge in there heads.
However, This Takes money from poor families. When kids get kicked out of the school CPS gets the worst of it all. Therefore, this also causes them to fail a grade because of how much money they owe. This type of thing makes students want to drop out of school. This could also increase the drop out rate.
All in all, I think that Noble Street Charter School is just making things worst. For example, they take from the students to make their school better.I thought you are to give, save and spend. This school is taking and spending. Why would you take from your students to make your school detention better. I very much disagree with what Noble Street Charter School is doing to the students and also the school.

What A Real, Fake BOOTY

For once, Nicki Minaj left all her ridiculous Lady Gaga wannabe costumes (minus one lime green wig) at home and stripped down to flaunt her curves in a simple pink bikini on the set of her latest video in Hawaii on Wednesday. The question is, is her BOOTY real or is it fake. Many people say that in her video Stupid Hoe that she didn't have her real booty on that. Also they say she had a blow up doll of herself in the cage in the video. After that horrendous Grammy performance last month, the 29-year-old thinks she has proved she has some natural God-given talents. Is she trying to prove she has one or is she just doing what she has to. Why try to prove it unless it is all fake and she doesn't want to get caught in her own lie. SO TELL ME IS IT REAL OR IS IT FAKE?????????????????????/

Justin Bieber Punks His Good Friend Taylor Swift!!!!!!

Justin Bieber just turned 18, and what could be a better birthday gift than managing to "punk" a good friend? A trailer for the season premiere of MTV's newly revived Punk'd was released this week, showing the b'day boy doing just that. And not just any good friend--America's sweetheart Taylor  Swift, to boot!
The trailer, which showed up as an exclusive on Ryan Seacrest's site Thursday, has a smiling Bieber saying "I think we should start with Taylor." He then apparently gets Swift to shoot some fireworks off the balcony of a beach house. Which land on an offshore yacht. And cause it to catch on fire!
But wait, there's more. According to Bieber, this particular yacht apparently is hosting a wedding ceremony. So poor Swift not only is horrified by the idea of burning up someone's boat--she's tricked into thinking she's actually ruined someone's special day!
"This is completely not okay," we hear a flustered-sounding Swift saying in the background. Watch for yourselves:

Get More: MTV Shows
Aw, I have to say this is a little mean, knowing Swift's notorious romantic soft heart. That really must have caused her to panic. Not nice, Biebs! I mean, It's one thing to have, say, Kanye West think he's ruined someone's incomparable precious moment in time...(cough, cough). Okay, couldn't resist that one.Taylor Swift
The season premiere of Punk'd is March 29 at 10 p.m. ET. Be sure to tune in for the full story--I'm pretty sure Taylor will forgive Justin for her near-heart attack.
What do you think of this little joke? Will you be watching at the end of the month? Be sure to let me know!

Television Networks Are Under Attack!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you ever seen a kid sit in front of Television for hours at a time? Some television networks are under attack for the violence that is presented on the news and in dramas. Proponents of the network think t.v should stay the same; however, T.V networks shouldn't  show violence because it messes up kids minds, promotes unsafe life styles and makes you believe things that aren't true.
Today's children sit in front of t.v for hours non stop. Their minds are taking in those things and getting all mixed up. Parents let their kids sit in front of t.v for there entire weekend. Therefore, some schools have low test scores. Many people think to get by in the world you have to know violence and television just encourages them to do so. Why go though life with violence? For example, Dr.King handled nothing with violence yet he lead us to freedom. Also, Rosa Parks fought for her seat. Guess what she had no violence involved.
Many kids see somethings on t.v and think it is cool. Television promotes kids to do stunts and other unsafe things. To this day kids perform stunts; however, they hurt themselves in the process. For instance, kids  perform stunts like rollerblading down stairs and then have the guts to say "Well I saw it on T.V so I thought I could do it." How many kids do you think have hurt themselves from Jack A** stunts. Teens have tried Jack A** stunts;one drove over a friend, one set himself on fire. It's hard to tell if the show inspired these acts.
Television makes many of us believe things that aren't true. Reality t.v shows make us think that is what is right and we should do what they do. In this case, Two in a half man, Family guy, American dad , and many more let off that sense. These shows make you believe that you all ways have to play around and do nothing in life but goof around. It tells you "Hey lets be lazy and mess up are life and be  bums for the rest of are life's!!" This is why television is nothing but trouble for kids and young adults.
T.V needs to cut back on a lot of things. Television shows kids these days many things that can kill there brain cells. Kids today does whatever t.v does. T.V networks are under attack for the violence that is presented on the news and dramas, because it  messes up kids minds, promotes unsafe life styles and makes you believe things that aren't true. My question is why mess up kids minds and these other things!!!??? When you can stop it from happening in the first place?!?!?!?!?!?

Kim Kardashian Divorce Turns Ugly!?!?!?!

The Kim Kardashian, Kris Humphries divorce has become a bitter fight, and Kris' lawyer intends to put reality TV on trial ... but that could blow up in his face. Kris and his lawyer, Lee Hutton, want to "expose the M.O. of reality TV" by proving Kim had no intention of staying married to him, but just wanted big ratings for her reality show.
Now here's the irony. The duo wants to prove their point by asking the judge to allow TMZ and TV stations to broadcast the trial -- something that the judge might find a tad hypocritical ... not that we're complaining.
TMZ broke the story ... Kim filed for divorce on grounds of "irreconcilable differences." Kris has countered that he wants the marriage annulled based on fraud.
Kris has a couple of problems with the fraud claim. First of all, he's the one who proposed. Second, the publicity has made him famous and marketable and he'll make millions more than he would have otherwise.
And another big point in Kim's favor ... The prenup is extremely long and complicated ... accounting for what would happen years into the future. Why would she go through the time and trouble of having a long prenup if she planned on pulling the plug on the marriage within a few months?
